Welcome!

COVID-19 has left millions of older adults feeling trapped, scared and further isolated.
We’re here to help. With our remote training, program modules and support, young people, ages 11-22 (Ambassadors), are engaging with and bringing joy into the homes of isolated adults in need (Adult Participants).

From March, 2020 through September 1, 2020 we facilitated over 300 free visits and programs connecting Ambassadors and Adult Participants from around the world.  The impact has been vital and heartwarming!

As needs continue to escalate, for the 2020-2021 school year, Sweet Readers is partnering with schools, eldercare centers and hospitals to engage isolated adults with trained Sweet Readers in our virtual group programs via Zoom.

Programs include 5 weekly sessions during which participants explore and create music, poetry, movement, stories and more as they discover each other and bridge their communities.

We are in the process of updating and consolidating connect.sweetreaders.org and sweetreaders.org.  In the meantime, please feel free to browse either site and email us, for the most updated information at:  info@sweetreaders.org.

Thank you!

The video below will give you some insights into how the visits worked.  Please note, sign ups are closed while we focus on our group programs and update our systems.
